What a love style actually is

A love style describes how you reach for closeness, and what you do when closeness feels at risk. It is not a score of how much you love someone. It is a pattern: what you notice first, what you need in order to feel safe, and where you tend to go when you are hurt. Most people recognise themselves strongly in one style and partly in a second.

The five Bonds love styles

The Firecracker leads with intensity and says it out loud. The Peacemaker keeps things calm and often puts their own need last. The Deep Diver wants to understand the whole thing before they can feel close again. The Anchor shows love through reliability more than through words. The Spark keeps connection alive through play, novelty and shared energy. Every one of them has a strength that doubles as its blind spot, which is the part worth knowing.

How the test works

Three questions, about sixty seconds, no signup. Pick the answer that sounds most like you rather than the one that sounds best. You can add one line about what you wish your partner knew, and your result is written around that line. Nothing is saved to a profile, and you do not need your partner present to take it.

What to do with the result

A style on its own is trivia. The part that changes anything is the one move at the end: a specific thing to try this week, chosen for the way your particular style tends to go wrong under pressure. Bonds turns that into a two minute daily habit if you want to keep going, and you can start on your own.

Common questions

What is a love style test?

A love style test is a short quiz that describes how you express affection, how you prefer to receive it, and what tends to happen between you and a partner under stress. It is a self reflection tool rather than a clinical assessment. This one takes about sixty seconds and ends with one concrete thing to try.

Is this the same as the 6 love styles: eros, ludus, storge, pragma, mania and agape?

No. Those six come from John Alan Lee's love attitudes model, measured by the Love Attitudes Scale, and they describe general attitudes toward romantic love. The five Bonds love styles describe something narrower and more practical: what you actually do in a relationship when you want closeness and when you feel it slipping. If you are looking specifically for those six attitude types, this is not that test.

How is a love style different from a love language?

A love language is about the currency you prefer: words, time, touch, gifts, acts. A love style is about the pattern underneath it, meaning how you move toward someone and what you do when you feel unseen. Two people can share a love language and still collide, because their styles handle stress in opposite ways.

How long does the love style test take, and do I need to sign up?

Three questions and about sixty seconds. No signup, no email needed to see your result, and nothing is stored against a profile. Most love style tests run forty to fifty questions and ten minutes or more, which is a different trade: more detail in exchange for much more effort.

Do I need my partner to take it with me?

No. You take it on your own and the result is written for you rather than for the two of you. Nothing is shared with anyone unless you choose to share it. If you want to compare notes later, you can send them the test and they can take it separately.

Is the result accurate, and who built it?

Treat it as a mirror rather than a verdict. The questions and the result copy were built with a psychologist, and the personalised part of your result is psychology guided AI, not a diagnosis. If something in the result does not fit you, trust yourself over the label.
